International Students Admission
Applicants must satisfy the following requirements:
1. Foreign citizens, in good physical and mental health, friendly to China and awarded a certificate of graduation from high school.
A. For applicants who were originally Chinese citizens and subsequently acquired foreign nationality, the following documents are required:
(1) Certificate of Chinese nationality withdrawal;
(2) Certificate of cancellation of Chinese household registration;
(3) Certificate of foreign nationality;
(4) Entry and exit records from April 30, 2020, to April 30, 2024.
B. For applicants who obtained foreign nationality subsequent to birth in a foreign country, if either or both parents hold Chinese citizenship, the following documents are required:
(1) Evidence of the applicant's acquisition of foreign nationality at birth.
(2) Proof of the permanent residency status of the applicant's Chinese citizen parents in foreign nations prior to the applicant's birth.
(3) Entry and exit records from April 30, 2020, to April 30, 2024.

NOTE: All of the materials should be in English.
- Completed application form;
- A photocopy your current passport (photo page to be included);
- A passport size color photograph (2-inch color bareheaded photo with white background, the aspect ratio should be 4:3, and in JPG format.);
- Copies of all relevant transcripts.
- Official copy of University Entrance Exam report (e.g. SAT or ACT) (optional)
- A copy of High School Diploma, if applicable.
- Personal Statement (1-2 pages), in English, expressing your educational career goals.
- For transfer students, an official transcript evaluation by a NACES-approved evaluation service, such as WES (www.wes.org), is required. The official copy of the evaluation should be mailed to the Admissions Office of Kean University.
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Minimum Score: Internet-based: 79; Paper-based: 550
International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Minimum Score: 6.0
Duolingo English Test
Minimum Score: 105
Please note that the TOEFL/IELTS requirement is only waived if you are a native English speaker or have completed a college-level English Composition course in the U.S. with a grade of “C” or better or other similar qualification acceptable to WKU.
Please contact the Admissions Office if you do not have an equivalent score.
Submission Method: Please submit your personal portfolio and professional application information to the designated email: mgc@wku.edu.cn and admissions@wku.edu.cn. In the email subject, please specify: WKU + Applied Major + Your Full Name.
PORTFOLIO
Upload a minimum of 10 individual pieces of creative work and no more than 12. The best work should display personal creative thinking and skill in basic design and drawing. Select examples in a variety of media and subject matter.
The categories and criteria for evaluation are as follows:
*Visual Form: Effective Use of Visual Elements and Principles of Composition
*Visualization: Effective Sketching and Drawing Skills
*Technical: Effective Use of Traditional Art Media and/or Digital Media
*Creativity: Unconventional and/or Unique Solutions and Conceptual Strength
*Presentation: Variety and range in the selection of creative work
*Professionalism: Maturity and Thoughtfulness of Essay. You may include items created on your own or while in school.
Images (up to 5MB each), Video (up to 250MB each), Audio (up to 30MB each), PDFs (up to 10MB each), Models (Sketchfab) and other Types (.website) (up to 10MB each). You may also link to media from YouTube, Vimeo and SoundCloud.
*Tuition Fee of the academic YEAR 2024-2025: RMB 68,000 (USD 9,360) / Year.
Accommodation Fee: RMB 7,000 (USD 970)–RMB 14,500 (USD 2,000) per Academic Year, 1 Academic Year=10 Months.
*Application Fee: RMB 400 (USD 55).
*Meals, Text Books, and Other Cost:Approximate RMB 20,000 (USD 2,750)/Academic year.
*Deposit: RMB 5,000 (USD 690)
The Deposit is non-refundable. It will be deducted from the tuition once students are enrolled at Wenzhou – Kean University.
*Insurance: RMB 800(USD 110)/Year.
*Residence Permit: RMB 800 (USD 110)/per year.
*Physical Check: RMB 493 (USD 65)/per year.
*Note: USD is approximate and subjects to currency exchange rates.
Freshmen Students Scholarship
1. Full Freshmen Scholarship: Tuition reduction of the first academic year.
2. Half Freshmen Scholarship: 50% Tuition reduction of the first academic year.
Students who excel in their first academic year may have their scholarship renewed for an additional year, with a maximum award equivalent to two years of tuition fees. For more information, please refer to the applicable continuation policy.
· Deadline: Jun.30 for fall semester.
· Qualification Requirement:
· Full Freshmen Scholarship: GPA 3.5/4 (or equivalent) or standardized English language tests (TOEFL 98/IELTS 7/Duolingo 130 or above);
· Half Freshmen Scholarship: GPA 3.0/4 (or equivalent) or standardized English language tests (TOEFL 87/IELTS 6.5/Duolingo 120 or above);
Note: As a Sino-American university, Wenzhou-Kean University follows the customary admissions practices of the U.S. higher education system. Applicants with U.S. educational credentials from accredited institutions (diplomas, degrees, credits, etc.) do not need to submit a NACES transcript evaluation for those U.S. based credentials.
· Continuity Policy
a) Applicant must comply with laws and regulations and Student Code of Conduct and never receive any written warning or above.
b) Applicants should have outstanding academic performance in the first academic year, with an overall GPA of 3.5/4 or above, ranked in the top 20%, without any course failure, and obtained at least ten credits.
c) Applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0/4 or above in CCC courses in the first academic year.
d) The recipients will not duplicate rewarding the Dean’s scholarship; however, the honor of the Dean’s scholarship is not affected.
Notice:
Please submit the required application documents before the deadline. It takes 1 month after the deadline to process your application for the scholarship.
The equivalent of GPA or standardized English language tests is assessed by Wenzhou-Kean University Scholarship and Grant Committee.
