Submit test scores only if they best represent your academic preparedness — the choice is yours.

For the 2027 application cycle, Wenzhou-Kean University is adopting a test-optional policy. You may choose whether to submit scores from national or international exams — such as the SAT or ACT — based on which best represents your academic preparedness.

Applicants can provide the results of the following exams:

3 sections: Reading, Writing & Language, Math

4 sections: English, Math, Reading, Science Reasoning

GCE A-level

3 subjects with the highest exam scores

AP

3 subjects with the highest exam scores

IB

Official International Baccalaureate test report

Grand total ≤ 30 from five subjects — 3 compulsory + 2 relevant

Planning future credit transfer? If you submit AP, A-level or IB scores and later wish to apply for credit transfer, submit an official FULL score report for the university’s evaluation. Credit accreditation is subject to the university’s relevant policies.
SAT, SAT Subject, ACT and AP scores must be final at the time of application. For other exams (e.g. IB, A-levels), predicted results may be submitted by a school official if final results are not yet available — final scores are due as soon as they become available.

Secondary schooling in English

Official documentation stating that you completed secondary schooling at an institution where English is the language of instruction.

Path 2 · College courses

College-level English Composition

Successfully completed at least two college-level English Composition courses at an accredited U.S. institution with a grade of “B” or higher.

Subject to approval. All waiver requests are subject to final approval by the admissions office. Provide official documentation to substantiate your request — meeting the minimum criteria does not guarantee a waiver will be granted.
Applicants to fully-online programs are not eligible for English proficiency waivers.
FArchitecture & Design programs
Only for applicants to Architecture & Design programs — portfolios are uploaded in the application portal.

We would like your portfolio with 5 pieces of work demonstrating your interest in Design and Architectural Studies.

  1. Draw one or two drawings to show us what Architecture means to you. Include a short written statement of no more than 100 words.
  2. Draw one or two drawings to show us what you do in your spare time.
  3. Draw one drawing to describe your journey from home to school in your hometown or city.
  4. What is your preferred drawing tool? Use it to create a drawing of your choice, whether with a pencil, computer program, or another medium.
  5. Invent and draw an emoji that represents “Architecture.”

Please combine all five items listed above into one PDF document.
Portfolio Format
Please use an A4 landscape format for all 5 of your drawings. Each individual image/drawing should not exceed 5 MB. If your work includes animation or video, you may upload them via YouTube or Vimeo, and list the link in the PDF.
How to submit
In the application portal, upload your portfolio to the portfolio upload section.

Upload 10-12 individual pieces of creative work. The best work should display personal creative thinking and skill in basic design and drawing. Select examples in a variety of media and subject matter.
